What is one way to divide the United States into regions?

This is a list of some of the regions in the Us. Many regions are defined in police force or regulations by the federal government; others by shared civilisation and history; and others by economic factors.

Interstate regions [edit]

Census Bureau-designated regions and divisions [edit]

Since 1950, the U.s.a. Demography Bureau defines four statistical regions, with 9 divisions.^{[1] [2]} The Census Bureau region definition is "widely used ... for data collection and assay",^[three] and is the most commonly used classification system.^{[4] [5] [6] [vii]}

The ten standard federal regions were established by OMB (Office of Direction and Budget) Circular A-105, "Standard Federal Regions", in April 1974, and went into apply for all executive agencies. In recent years, some agencies have tailored their field structures to meet program needs and facilitate interaction with local, state, and regional counterparts. However, the OMB must still approve any departures.

The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 divided the state into twelve districts with a cardinal Federal Reserve Bank in each district. These twelve Federal Reserve Banks together form a major role of the Federal Reserve Arrangement, the central banking arrangement of the U.s.a.. Missouri is the merely U.S. country to have 2 Federal Reserve locations within its borders, but several other states are also divided betwixt more than than one district.
